Description |
John Wayne riding a horse with his rifle drawn. When he accepted his Academy Award for best actor for playing Rooster Cogburn in "True Grit", John Wayne said, "If I'd known what that eye patch could do, I'd have put it on years ago." Top sculptor Harry Jackson is just as irascible as Wayne's character and he was a perfect choice to sculpt the "Duke" in his famous role. Jackson rushed to produce a small painted wax figure for the cover of "Time" magazine and then took his time to perfect this larger painted bronze edition. |
